Are you passionate about music, multiculturalism, or both?

Are you interested in what happens behind the scenes at Canada’s first and only professional intercultural orchestra?

Do you like to help exciting and ground-breaking projects come to fruition?

…Then the VICO wants you! Specifically, our Board of Directors is currently recruiting new members. Previous experience on an arts/nonprofit board is not necessary (although of course it is an asset, if you happen to have any!); the only hard and fast requirement for the job is a willingness to commit some time and energy to the VICO cause.

What does the Board do?

  • The Board meets monthly to receive updates from staff and discuss ongoing “big picture” organizational stuff like governance and strategic planning.
  • Board members also support VICO’s programming in more day-to-day ways, e.g. by planning and/or hosting events, networking in all kinds of different communities, and more.

These are exciting times for the VICO; we are in the midst of our 19th season, and we have a lot of fascinating projects in various stages of development, not only close to home in BC but also across Canada and on the international stage. Find out more about the VICO here.

Past Board President Diana Stewart-Imbert has this to say: “The Board and staff have a lot of fun working collaboratively on various projects throughout each season (concerts, festivals, ‘fun’draisers…), and bringing people and communities into the fascinating world of intercultural music. We share a sense of belonging together, and we take great pride in contributing to the VICO’s growth as it becomes an integral part of Vancouver’s social/cultural fabric.”
